-ABSOTIVELY GROOVEYLISCIOUS!!!
Well, well, well.....what can I say? FIVE STAR are back in town, and boy have they done their homework!!! Vocal wise, production wise, it's all there. Denise roars on this album, especially on "I get such a high". I bought this album through their official website at Tent Records, and prior to that, I got to talk to Doris and Denise and their mom and dad about the album!! I could NOT wait for the release date! And it was well worth it. Potential hits are definitely: "I wish me you", "Hung Up", "Eyes don't lie", "I get such a high" and "Funktafied". What I think should happen now is to get on the phone, call Rodney Jerkins, Dallas Austin and Pablo Flores to do a series of remixes to these tracks!! Deliver stunning, quality videos, do lay outs in magazines such as Rolling Stone, do some heavy duty promotion, and you'll see! All I can say is that: FIVE STAR, I LOVED YOU THEN, NOW AND ALWAYS WILL. This album ROCKS!!!!!

-Return to the scene?
Pioneers of the 80's pop scene, Five Star return with this US only release. The mood is very laid back, with none of the rush of their better know work. The tracks although soulful and melodic are not in genre with the current R n B grooves gracing our airwaves, apart from the slow jam "Funktafied". It is unclear what market they are aiming for, certainly not the UK scene, which is a shame as from recent media speculation continues with regards their long awaited comeback. Of the 14 tracks on offer, the dissapointment here is that 5 of the tracks appeared on their last album, Heart and Soul. If this is to bring Five Star the success they deserve, they will have to promote this heavily and rely on some remixing from some big playas on the scene. This is a shame as by all efforts this is a good album.

-I Get Such A High
I love this CD from beginning to end. Five Star have ruled my universe since 'All Fall Down' and I just can stop listening to this latest offering. From the hooky 'I Wish Me You' to the absolutely funky attitude of 'One Way Mirror', Five Star delivers a CD I will enjoy over and over. 'Hung Up' and 'I Get Such A High' get more ingrained with each listen and the vocals on '(I Love You) 4 Sentimental Reasons' leaves you breathless.I haven't even mentioned 'Don't Let Me Be The Lonely One' or 'I Give You Give' or 'Get A Life Together' or 'Eyes Don't Lie'. Spread the word.

-FIVE STAR BACK! AND BETTER THAN EVER!!!
"Eclipse" is the brand new and beautiful album from the UK's premier soul band Five Star. In the same veign as Madonna's "Something to Remember" it is a collection of ballads old and new, with a couple of funky numbers from sister Doris rounding it off nicely at the end. From the opening track "I Wish Me You" it is clear that this album is from the heart and soul of Five Star. This track has "number one" written all over it, and sets the standard for the rest of the disc. The opening five tracks are simply stunning, and the two singles "I Get Such a High" and the massive hit "Funktafied" simply irresistable....

A Beautiful, Soulful, and Mature Album
This CD proves that Britain's former teen pop family can mature into a soulful R&B group. Now based in Los Angeles, Five Star produces and writes most of their songs and these songs are well produced by Delroy Pearson, the youngest of the group, and beautifully sung by Denise Pearson, whose versatille voice rivals that of Toni Braxton and bests most R&B divas out there today. The standout tracks on this CD are "Hung Up" (a soothing, mid-tempo gem), "I Get Such a High" (the best track on the disc featuring wicked voals by Denise), "Funktafied" ( a sexy R&B slow jam), and "Tell Me What You Want" (a beautiful love song written by Denise). "Got a Lot of Love" stands out from the handful of remixed tracks from the group's 1994 CD "Heart and Soul". An overrall excellent effort from the Pearsons and deserves a listen not only from Five Star fans, but fans of great music as well. Highly recommended.

Five star deserves FIVE STARS!
On their latest CD, Five Star has mixed new tracks with previous tracks released on their 1994 CD "Heart and Soul". Most of the tracks from the "Heart and Soul" disc are remixed differently so it's definitely a treat to hear these new versions! Denise Pearson's voice sounds great - it matures like a fine wine. The CD offers classic pop, R&B, and awesome love ballads - an eclectic mix showcasing their vocal talents. I recently was able to see them perform in San Diego and they were wonderful!
