-Five Star's star is still rising in the
charts. Last week Funktafied moved up on the Hip-Hop/R&B Sales Chart to #29.
It also moved up on the Hip-Hop/R&B Bubbling Under Chart to #15.
-The one and only Five Star Messageboard from I-music has changed it's look
dramatically. To my opinion a very poorly attempt to be as high-tech as other
bulletinboards. It's a chaos and far from custom-friendly. the problem is we just HAVE to
cope with it, we have no choice, do we? Just check it
out and see what you think.
-Michael "Five Star Service" Silvester has a new Poll. In the
autumn of 1998 he released the results for the "Five Star Track Poll". Now he's
doing it again but ofcorse incl. the "Eclipse" tracks and some rare and vocal
b-side tracks.
You
can go to his site and vote.
-Five Star will be back on the road again with a performance in exactly one
month, July 21 San Diego, California.
It will be a 45 minute show from 9:45-10:30 PM. Check out this site for more information and ticket sales!

-As many may know by now, Five Star are
hitting the US-Charts at the moment with their latest single "Funktafied"!
It's the first time since 1988 ("Someone's In Love", r&b #35)
that Five Star hits it big in the US-charts.
Five Star's US contact-person Leron kept us up-to-date with the latest
positions on the Billboard-Charts on the I-music Bulletin-board. Because he wanted to
share this information with every Five Star fan in the world he decided to release the
Charts on the Five Star Channel. He emailed me several times with the Chart-attachments
but unfortunately somehow it just doesn't open properly...(maybe it's that stupid
Internet-cafe Netscape computer!?).
We expect to solve this problem very soon, so till then I will give you the
latest, collected from the bulletinboard:
"Five Star
Funktafied had come in on the R&B/Hip-Hop SALES Chart at #39. They entered the chart
last issue, which was the 2 June 2001 at #72. It is selling like mad over here! They had
the biggest jump in sales for that week.
This week Funktafied checks in at #23 Bubbling Under and #36 on the Sales Chart.
Funktafied isn't officially released until Tuesday June 5th. Five Star is being
distributed by Ground Level and not themselves, so the totals for Sound Scan comes from
their distributor. As I was told, the single is available all across the country. As I
wrote last week or maybe the week before about the single being sent to radio, all of the
radio stations don't have it yet! It is A-Listed at virtually every station it's being
played. There are several stations out there at this point that's giving Funktafied 18
spins a week. I'm sure PAs are forthcoming".
