single "Funktafied" finally hits the r&b/hip-hop Hot 100 Chart!
Although the #99 entry-position isn't something explosive, mind this that
this is VERY remarkable as the single doesn't have the support of a video (yet?) and the
marketing/promotion of a major record-label. Don't forget that Five Star is now part of 1
of the 100 most popular r&b/hip-hop singles in the US! That IS something. Even
single-releases like "Treat Me Like A Lady" & "Shine" (which were
made under contract of Sony/Epic and had the support of reasonable high budget video's!)
weren't able to make it to the Hot 100. Congratulations to Five Star!
People know now that Five Star still are there, and here to stay. So, what's
next?
Well, personally I think it would be wise to release an even more stronger
second single later on this year (I Get Such A High?), and this time WITH a video. And
maybe, with a bit of luck, Five Star will get themselves another major recorddeal...what
more proof do they (record-companies) need?
